The Energy Policy Council has been tasked by the General Assembly to advise and make recommendations on increasing domestic energy exploration, development, and production within the State and region to promote economic growth and job creation, while ensuring the protection and preservation of the State�s natural resources, cultural heritage, and quality of life.

The first meeting is scheduled to take place on January 15th. Governor McCrory is scheduled to be in attendance, as well as Secretary Skvarla.

The members of the Energy Policy Council include Lt. Governor Forest (Chair), Sec. Skvarla, Sec. Decker, Frank Gorham, Carl Wilkins, Paolo Carollo, Richard Newell, Marshall Cohen, Rob Caldwell, George M. Baldwin, Michael T. VanWingerdon, and Vernon N. Cox.
