More examples of willful ignorance here again!!!! You call yourself a patriot your a misinformed fool!!

New guidance Friday from the National Institutes of Health has sent a tremor through U.S. research institutions, including the Triangle's two largest, as Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill stand to lose hundreds of millions in federal funding if a governmental cap on indirect medical research payments survives a legal challenge.
"We're talking about massive layoffs across the Triangle if this (rule) holds," former UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor Holden Thorp said in a phone interview Monday.

"Effectively halting research to cure and treat human disease will directly impact the well-being of the Plaintiff states' citizens, who are the beneficiaries of research creating treatments, such as modern gene editing, vaccines such as flu vaccines, and cures for diseases like cancer, infectious diseases, and addiction," the lawsuit stated!

The policy has sparked an uproar among many in academia. "Here in the NC Research Triangle, it will devastate medical & nursing schools & universities," Gavin Yamey, director of the Center for Policy Impact at the Duke Global Health Institute, wrote on this week.

"For 70 years, the United States and the institutions have had an agreement that they would more or less equally share the costs of providing the infrastructure that it takes to carry out the American research enterprise," he said

Ivermectin Can't Be Stopped

The"research" you are referring to makes big pharma billions a year without curing anything because healthy people don't make money for the pharmaceutical industry. They need sick people which is why they still slowly destroy cancer patients with chemotherapy and radiation. Also, this so called research includes gain of function that creates even more serious illnesses for which their answer is more mRNA poison. Stop defending murderers.

A proposal by the Trump administration to reduce the size of grants for institutions conducting medical research would have far-reaching effects, and not just for elite universities and the coastal states where many are located

.

Also at risk could be grants from the National Institutes of Health to numerous hospitals that conduct clinical research on major diseases, and to state universities across the country. North Carolina, Missouri and Pennsylvania could face disproportionate losses, because of the concentration of medical research in those states.

Dr. Robert Lefkowitz, a Duke University professor of medicine who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2012, said that indirect funds pay for the purchase and maintenance of highly sophisticated microscopes that enable him to examine the structure of molecules.

That fundamental research, he said, has made it possible to develop lifesaving medicines for cancer and other diseases. No single researcher, or even a group of researchers, could afford the upkeep on the equipment without the federal dollars tacked onto their grants to support it, he said.

"I think the American people need to understand how devastating it would be if this goes through," Dr. Lefkowitz said. "A lot of research would just have to stop; I can't imagine that the shortfall could be met from other sources."
