And as much as I hate being the spelling police...dude! It is a screen name. Check the spelling. Having said that, if opium is a problem, seek help or enjoy the buzz.

LOL! Is this the same dude that posted the Arizona protest that was "just a mile from my house" that had LA landmarks in the background?
Seriously, research your cut and pastes. Fake news is, well, fake news.

Hmm lets see the US Senate has oversight of High Officers of the United States, and now the NC Senate has oversight of High Officers of the state of North Carolina.....

I don't like how they passed this but I could cite other issues and nothing they changed is enshrined in the NC Constitution as an executive power. NC has always had one of the weakest executives of all the states, and was the last to give him veto power.

I guess Smitty didn't bother to read the NC constitution before wasting his time writing that long drawn out rambling. But, being he is too dumb to know how to google the mailing address for the legislature or the governor, I don't guess I should be surprised.

Article Six of the U.S. Constitution:
"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof;...shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or laws of any State to the Contrary not one word withstanding."

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
This is being sent to some NC Newspapers, because I have the wrong ZipCode for contacting your Governor, your representatives in Congress, your Senators, or your Legislature. Maybe one of you will publish it, or research it further, or whatever. In any case I wish you a Joyous Holiday Season and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

North Carolina acknowledges that the Constitution for the United States of America is the supreme Law of the Land! The Government of the US and all states consists of an Executive Branch, a Legislative Branch and a Judiciary. All three must obey the Constitution for the United States of America. None can (on its own) abridge, nullify, or add to the powers of the others, other then by Constitutional Amendment. Article Five of the Constitution explains how to do that.
The NC Legislature's action to amend, change, or curtail the powers of the Executive (the Governor) is illegal, unconstitutional and arbitrary. It violates both the Constitution for the United States of America and the North Carolina Constitution. At the very least the Legislature has overstepped its powers and possibly opened itself to allegations of conspiracy and treason.
North Carolina Constitution, Article 1, Sec. 5: Allegiance to the United States. - Every citizen of this State owes paramount allegiance to the Constitution and government of the United States, and no law or ordinance of the State in contravention or subversion thereof can have any binding force.
Article 13, Sec 4: Revision or amendment by legislative initiation. - A proposal of a new or revised Constitution or an amendment or amendments to this Constitution may be initiated by the General Assembly, but only if three-fifths of all the members of each house shall adopt an act submitting the proposal to the qualified voters of the State for their ratification or rejection. The proposal shall be submitted at the time and in the manner prescribed by the General Assembly. If a majority of the votes cast thereon are in favor of the proposed new or revised Constitution or constitutional amendment or amendments, it or they shall become effective January first next after ratification by the voters unless a different effective date is prescribed in the act submitting the proposal or proposals to the qualified voters.

P.S. The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."
But the NC Legislature apparently prefers a dictatorship, or a Junta!
